ConCOREdance

Harmony in Complexity

Recovery Baseline and BPS Reintegration

Cody Valle -> Brandon Hatfield, LPC and the ConCOREdance project team

ConCOREdance returns to a verified recovery baseline: complete encrypted backups include original attachments, client packets contain readable records and originals, failed saves remain recoverable, and the embedded client-linked BPS Assessment now supports encrypted autosave, deliberate review, immutable final records, and linked amendments.

Recovery Baseline and BPS Reintegration

The October recovery pass began by treating the installed application, canonical source checkout, encrypted vault, attachment store, prior handoffs, and public archive as separate pieces of evidence rather than assuming they still agreed. The investigation confirmed that the native application remained a viable alpha, but its durability story and canonical record had drifted. In particular, the BPS Assessment had been developed as a substantial standalone clinician workspace without being fully incorporated into the ConCOREdance record or native workflow.

The recovery implementation repaired the most consequential gaps. Complete `.ccbackup` packages now preserve the encrypted vault data and every imported original with count, filename, size, and hash validation. Restore validates the package before replacement, supports a fresh destination, preserves a recovery copy of the prior vault, and does not claim success when originals are missing or invalid. Client packet ZIP exports now include human-readable notes, structured records, session material, BPS JSON, and filed original PDFs. Failed vault saves remain visible and prevent lock or termination from silently discarding records. Fresh vaults begin empty unless demonstration data is explicitly requested.

The BPS Assessment is now registered as a first-class ConCOREdance clinical module. The native client record embeds the delivered assessment workspace in WebKit, connects it to the stable native client identity through the versioned demographics contract, and saves complete assessment snapshots into the encrypted vault after a short debounce. Resuming an assessment updates the same record rather than producing a trail of accidental duplicates. Unknown fields remain intact so newer or standalone workspace versions do not lose information. JSON import and export remain available as portability and recovery paths, and assessment content participates in search, client packets, and complete backups.

Assessment records now move deliberately through Draft, In Review, Final, and Amended states. Final records reject further autosaves. Beginning an amendment preserves the finalized revision as immutable history and creates a linked editable draft. Native record-version checks reject saves or lifecycle actions from stale windows rather than silently replacing newer clinical work.

The implementation is installed as ConCOREdance alpha 0.1.1 build 20261002164022 in the current user's Applications folder. The system-wide copy was left untouched because it belongs to another account. The real clinical vault was never unlocked during the recovery work and its encrypted bytes remained unchanged through installation, restart, and verification.

The verified suite now contains 112 passing tests. Those tests cover encrypted restart, complete backup and clean-location restore, original attachment integrity, recovery copies, conservative failure behavior, client packet interoperability, client association, assessment autosave and resume, immutable finals, linked amendments, stale-window rejection, legacy assessment decoding, and loading the real BPS workspace through WebKit while preserving unknown fields.

This pass also establishes a storage discipline for continued development. Main-drive space is treated as scarce. Regenerable build products and caches should be removed after verification; durable backups and archives belong in verified cloud storage; clinical material must remain encrypted before cloud transfer.

Decisions

  • Recognize the BPS Assessment as part of the ConCOREdance clinical story and canonical product architecture.
  • Keep the complete versioned BPS JSON payload as the portable assessment record while embedding the existing workspace in the native app.
  • Require stable client association and encrypted persistence for native assessment drafts.
  • Treat complete attachment-inclusive backup and verified restore as the minimum honest recovery claim.
  • Preserve failed writes and current records rather than reporting success or discarding unsaved state.
  • Keep clinician review authoritative through explicit Draft, In Review, Final, and Amended lifecycle states.
  • Preserve finalized assessment revisions as immutable history and reject stale-window writes.
  • Treat main-drive storage as premium space and send durable backups to verified encrypted cloud storage.

Next Actions

  • Add explicit assessment review notes and stronger demographics conflict presentation.
  • Attach rendered assessment reports to the document record without flattening the structured assessment.
  • Harden vault key derivation, recovery, automatic lock, signing, sandboxing, and distribution.
  • Stage and reconcile Carepatron and other vendor imports without writing unverified data into the clinical vault.
  • Keep the Transmission Archive current whenever the canonical implementation or recovery posture materially changes.
